As part of my information design elective, I produced an infographic that displayed key data of our planetary system. The brief was open and required us to source existing data, ask questions of the data and find other relevant details that may support the context of our design.
I used Adobe Illustrator to produce the graphics before exporting to InDesign to arrange the text. The most important lesson this project taught me was the importance of defining a clear question or hypothesis at the beginning of the project. This prevents the risk of using irrelevant data that doesn’t match the story you’re trying to tell.
